OUR SERVICES - EARLY INTERVENTION

The professional and caring therapists at Advanced Therapy believe it is important to assess and implement a comprehensive program that will facilitate each child's development. We understand and believe in the philosophy of beginning therapy early in a child's life to enhance optimal functional development. Our therapists assist infants and toddlers in attaining developmental skills fundamental to each child and their family.

What are Early Intervention Services?

Early intervention services are designed to address a problem or delay in development for children birth to age three. Advanced Therapy helps to address the needs of children and their families who meet the criteria for services.

Who is eligible for Early Intervention Services?

Children are eligible for early intervention services if they are under three years old and have a disability or developmental delay. Your child does not need to be a U.S. citizen and there is no income “test” for the program. You and your child do have to be residents of New York State to participate in the Early Intervention Program.

How is eligibility decided?

All children referred to the Early Intervention Official have the right to a free multidisciplinary evaluation that will determine eligibility for services. The multidisciplinary evaluation will help determine your child’s strengths, needs and if he/she meets the criteria for services. Criteria for services are based on the child’s developmental delays. Your child’s development will be measured according to the “definition of developmental delay” set by New York State.

Where are Early Intervention Services Provided?

Early intervention services can be provided anywhere in the community. This includes a child’s home, day care center, recreational centers, or any place parents and children go for fun and support.
