Our experienced therapists strive to improve function by providing services directly, both in the therapy context as well as the classroom setting when possible. We believe it is essential to take a team approach when developing a student’s Individualized Educational Program and ongoing consultation with teaching staff is regularly performed to assist students in carryover of skills to classroom setting.
Advanced Therapy P.L.L.C. believes preparation is essential in order to provide quality services to school district as well as each individual student. In addition, staff and administration assist school districts to develop and implement policy and procedures as it pertains to therapy services. This includes working with our clients to develop criteria for receiving therapy services, Medicaid documentation, screening protocols and much more. Our administration is available to our clients to assist in enhancing related service programming and prevent problems from occurring.

Community Based Organization (CBO)/UPK STAFFING
What do we offer?
Advanced Therapy is a Community Based Organization which provides staffing within nearby districts for Universal Pre-Kindergarten programs.
Our teachers, teaching assistants and therapy staff collaborate with districts to provide this educational service. Our teachers and staff adhere to all district policies, procedures and guidelines, as well as implement the district’s curriculum, as aligned to the state’s Pre-Kindergarten Foundation for the Common Core and the New York State Early Learning Guidelines.
What are the benefits of our program?
Children attending our classrooms benefit from a curriculum which can include activities and play opportunities that support their cognitive, language, physical and social-emotional growth. The goal of any pre-kindergarten curriculum is to give every child a strong foundation for future school success. To accomplish this goal, teachers plan and implement lessons that are a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated tasks. Teachers also complete intentional planning of tasks to focus instruction on the individual learning styles and needs of specific children. A typical day in one of our classrooms includes circle time, center time, story time, music and movement, gross motor play, and small group instruction. Our teachers and teacher assistants provide a structured and nurturing environment which encourages and celebrates every child’s development, achievements and successes.
Advanced Therapy is unique in that we offer our collaborative partners the benefit of our therapy staff integrating into the classroom setting. Our therapy staff, including occupational therapists, physical therapist, speech and language therapists and school psychologists, provide whole group interventions to children demonstrating minor developmental weaknesses as a result of a developmental screening. Developmental screenings are conducted in our classrooms to determine if there is a need for a formal evaluation in any of the developmental areas. These screenings allow both therapists and teachers an opportunity to identify areas of need, and then as a result, begin the process of intervention as mentioned. Intervention includes facilitating strategies to address the concerns and monitor the students’ progress.
